Theoretical Component

Advanced Scientific Principles

Students will learn the advanced scientific training of anaerobic/aerobic training through class lectures and study of the course text Basic Scientific Principles of Weight Resistance Training.

Topics:
  • Muscle proteins.
  • The sliding filament theory.
  • Components of the musculoskeletal system.
  • Bone classifications.
  • Joint structure.
  • Joint articulation.
  • Building essential torso strength.
  • Muscles comprising the rotator cuff.
Advanced Physiology

Students will learn the advanced physiology of anaerobic/aerobic training through class lectures and study of the course text Basic Scientific Principles of Weight Resistance Training.

Topics:
  • Factors related to blood.
  • Exercising in extreme environments
    • Cold temperatures.
    • Heat and humidity.
    • High altitude.
Advanced Program Design

Students will continue to develop their skills in providing efficient program designing. Students will be required to hand in five (5) advanced training programs.

Biomechanics Research

Student will be required to research and develop materials related to sports medicine.

  • Joint structure and articulation
    • Common ailments.
    • Sports related injuries.
    • Muscles and their function.
  • Bone classifications.
  • Bone diseases.
